Regent Testimonial - Mr & Mrs Birkett

Family holidays are making a comeback as are breaks in the UK but just how easy is it to find somewhere the entire family will enjoy?  Simple if you buy a holiday home.  We talk to one couple about their property in the seaside town of Morecambe.

For Sharon Birkett keeping her family happy and together when on holiday is very important.  That is why two years ago Sharon and her husband Allan decided to purchase a holiday home in Morecambe Bay through South Lakeland Parks.   With three children aged between 15 months and 16 years, a caravan in this traditional seaside town provided the family with the perfect escape providing a wide range of activities for all and entertainment that appealed to the entire family.

Furthermore as Allan runs his own business it also meant that taking a holiday was proving to be somewhat of an issue for the family as Sharon explains, "Holidays can be a real problem for us, especially as we can never take longer than a week at a time off.  It posed a real problem when thinking about travelling abroad and I'm not a fan of flying anyway, so when a friend recommended buying a holiday home in the UK we decided to explore our options."

The couple, from Keighley, West Yorkshire started looking for a park somewhere which could be easily reached. The family had also set their hearts on a seaside location so that and a recommendation is what led them to Regent. 

"My friend already had a caravan at Regent so we went there to take a look around." says Sharon, "I recall the first visit, how I found everything strangely familiar and as it turns out I had spent a couple of holidays at Regent as a child when my parents used to bring me here."

"We just wanted somewhere all the kids could enjoy and somewhere we could be together as a family.  With three children at such different ages it can be hard to please them all.  However, all three of them love Regent.  The older two have a great time in the swimming pool, play area and taking part in the activities that are arranged by the park's entertainment team."

The family visit almost every weekend giving them a chance to enjoy maximum family time together. In an age when families seem to be at odds with each other it's refreshing to see how something as simple as owning a holiday home can provide such a bond.  Sharon tells me this was an important factor when they chose Regent, "The level of entertainment the park offered was really important to us as we wanted the holiday home to be something we could all enjoy.  The kids don't just want to sit in the caravan so the fact they can go and play, meet friends or get involved in the entertainment is ideal.  The staff at Regent really make it work well too. 

Regent is very much South Lakeland Park's entertainment park, offering a wide range of activities and facilities.  Sharon's favourite is the evening entertainment, "The evening entertainment is fantastic.  We especially love the Christmas and owners parties where the staff put on such a fantastic event, they make everything so special.  We visit the park every weekend and have never had a bad weekend.  The whole family gets to spend quality time together while relaxing and not worrying about anything else."

And it appears that is the key to perfect and happy family holidays.  As Sharon explained a holiday that offers plenty for everyone to do together but also allows time to relax is exactly the ideal break.
